Representation of teenagers in the Guardian

As a comparison to the Daily mail newspaper, The Guardian values other stories and shows a more right-wing perspective juxtaposed to the left-wing based Daily Mail. Consequently they broadcast contrasting stories due to their political ideologies, shown clearly in the following news stories:
This article, unlike Daily Mail articles, shows sympathy towards teenagers  and suggests the health implications in a  genial manner rather than discussing the subject with the attitude of "millennials are a problem''.

The above article relates slightly to the daily mail article I previously  analysed  regarding the girl who ate chicken nuggets from the age of two and the health implications that followed. As seen throughout the Guardian articles this story is more sympathetic and describes accounts of people suffering from disorders with condolence. In the article teenagers are presented to be susceptible to the condition as it highlights the ever growing problem of our generation. Unlike the Daily Mail article the blame cannot be easily placed on the parents as it is a mental condition.

This article is similar to the Daily mail article regarding a mum allowing a teenager to have sex in her home. The story speaks about how teenagers are being pressured into sex with underage drinking being a problem. Again the article shows pity and commiseration for the teens and criticises the schooling system for not providing adequate sex education. This presents the teenagers as ignorant to sex issues and how they are at risk from being taken control of whilst they are under the influence of alcohol and shows statistically how they are regretful over loosing their virginity when they did.

This article is exactly the same as the first article I analysed on the Daily mail. The story is covered by both newspapers despite the political differences as it relates to the masses as it covers terrorism which gathers a large audience. Compared to the Daily Mail coverage the article shows commiseration to the families, "their families hoped they may return, but such hopes – which were already slim – are fading even further".
